The largest department store in all of continental Europe, the Kaufhaus des Westens (KaDeWe) features 60,000 square meters of retail space spread over seven floors, with everything from clothing to jewelry, furniture to housewares, and food to leather and fur repair. Commonly abbreviated as KaDeWe, this shopping Mecca attracts 40,000 to 50,000 visitors each day with a quality selection of goods to match London's world-famous Harrods department store.

The top floor, in particular, is not to be missed. Completely devoted to food, the "gourmet floor" offers thousands of European delicacies and a winter garden with views overlooking Wittenbergplatz. Located in central Berlin, KaDeWe is a few minutes' walk from Zoo Station and the famous avenue Kurfürstendamm, or Ku'damm.
