Old National Gallery
Home to many nineteenth-century sculptures and paintings, the Alte Nationalgalerie (Old National Gallery) is one of the five columns of Berlin's National Gallery. It belongs to Berlin's Museum Island and reopened in December 2001 after an extensive renovation.

Recognized for its collection of German and French Impressionists, the Alte Nationalgalerie offers visitors a chance to view masterpieces by Jakob Philipp Hackert, Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, and many others. The gallery also boasts the world's largest Adolph von Menzel collection. Some of his most important paintings, such as "The Balcony Room" and "The Iron Rolling Mill," can be seen at this museum. Sculptures by Berthel Thorwaldsen, Antonio Canova, Ridolfo Schadow, Constantin Meunier, and more are also displayed here.
