Gemäldegalerie
First opened in 1830 and rebuilt in 1998, and ocated at the Kulturforum Potsdamer Platz, the Gemäldegalerie (Picture Gallery) has one of the world's greatest collections of European art. With 72 rooms and 7,000 square meters of exhibition space, magnificent works of art are on display at every turn. Many of the great European masters are represented here with two major sections devoted to early Italian and Netherlandish painting.

Several rooms contain paintings done by German masters of the Late Gothic and Renaissance eras, including Konrad Witz, Albrecht Durer, Baldung Grien, Cranach, and Holbein. There are also numerous galleries with works from seventeenth-century Flemish and Dutch artists, including famous masterpieces by Rembrandt. An outstanding 1,000 works are found in the main gallery, complemented by 400 on the lower floor. Audio tours are available in German and English.
