Berlinische Gallerie - Berlin
Just a few meters from the Jewish Museum, the Berlinische Gallerie is Berlin's museum of modern art, photography, and architecture. Considered as the most experimental of the major museums in Berlin, the Berlinische Gallerie was founded in 1974 to exhibit art created in Berlin from 1870 to the present. Its vast collection includes a variety of cultural and artistic themes, including the Russians in Berlin, the avant-garde in architecture and photography, Berlin during the Nazi regime, and many others.

The building itself is something to see. Nestled in an unassuming, residential neighborhood, the 1956 structure was formerly used as a glass warehouse. Since then, it has been artistically enhanced and stands out from the rest of the neighborhood with colorful flags, black and yellow letters in front of the main entrance, and a white wall that juts out into the street. Not only is it a quiet place to view art, it is family friendly and has an art school and cafe inside.
