If historic architecture is your favorite sightseeing pursuit, a trip to the picturesque city of Potsdam should be on your itinerary. Tour this very green city's vast gardens and gorgeous castles of the Prussian royal family, who made their home here during the eighteenth century.

Potsdam is also home to Studio Babelsberg, the oldest movie studio in the world, known as the "Hollywood" of Germany. Take a tour of the studio and enjoy the on-site theme park.

Historic architecture of a completely different stripe can be found at Olympic Stadium, the much-storied sports arena that has undergone numerous drastic and fascinating reconstructions into the present day. It pre-dates World War I and was also the site of the 1936 Olympics under Adolph Hitler. With a current capacity of 76,000, the modernized stadium is now used for international sports events, and tours are available during the off season.
